Zadny Bridge is equipped with a case like "banjo" in which gipoidny assembly of the main transfer and the semi-unloaded half shafts is located. All models with bodies like Hardtop and Station Wagon, except for Patrol Ti and Maverick XLT are completed with assembly of the main H233B broadcast. The main transfer can be standardly equipped with both usual differential, and differential with limited sliding. The models Maverick XLT, Patrol Ti and some of ST are equipped with the main H233B broadcast with the blocked differential. Models with bodies like Utiliti (Van) and Cab Chassis are equipped with the main H260 broadcast with differential of usual type / limited slipping.
The transfer number of the main transfer of all models, except Patrol ST and Ti with RKPP, models with the engine of 3.0 l and Maverick XLT makes 4.111:1. The transfer number of models of 3.0 l makes 4.375:1, and the ST, XL and Ti models - 3.900:1.
Assembly of the conducted gear wheel of the main transfer with differential is installed in two conical roller bearings, and the radial side play and a pretightness are regulated by means of special nuts.
The leading gear wheel is installed also in two conical roller bearings which pretightness is defined by selection of the adjusting washer of the required thickness established between them. Depth of landing of the leading gear wheel is corrected by selection of the adjusting washer established between a gear wheel and a cone of the internal bearing.
The differential with limited sliding (LSD) continuously transfers rotation to both back wheels, however the torque is redistributed on a wheel with the minimum pro-slipping. When one of side gear wheels begins to rotate quicker opposite, the axis of satellites slightly turns, moving apart casings of planetary assembly that leads to increase in load of frictional plates and disks.
The blocked differential constantly (being blocked) transfers rotation to both back wheels evenly, regardless of extent of their pro-slipping and copes by means of the switch which directs depression via two electromagnetic valves to the executive camera fixed in a back part of a case of the bridge.
At inclusion of blocking of differential depression moves in one of the parties of the camera. At the same time the fork of switching and the coupling of the choice are displaced towards assembly of differential. The coupling of the choice slides on vents to a casing of differential and, having entered gearing with a back part of a side gear wheel, stops rotation of the last, thereby blocking differential. At blocking shutdown depression moves in an opposite half of the camera, returning a fork with the coupling in starting positions.
Blocking of differential has to join only when back wheels are not mobile, and the speed of the movement of the car at the time of inclusion does not exceed 7 km/h.
Procedures of removal and installation of assemblies of all main transfers are identical, however in case of failure of the blocked differential authors of this manual recommend to drive away the car for performance of repair in a workshop of dealer office of the company manufacturer of the car.
Half shafts on models with drum brake mechanisms of back wheels are equipped with one conical roller bearing (everyone), on models with disk brake mechanisms - two conical roller bearings. The bearing(s) of each half shaft is put into the casing fixed in the end of a sleeve of a case of the bridge. The casing fastens on a half shaft by means of a lock washer and a nut. Epiploons of half shafts are located since the external ends of a case of the bridge.
The back suspension bracket can be executed both on springs, and on screw springs.
In the first case are a part of a suspension bracket the leading back bridge suspended on semielliptical sheet springs (springs). Springs are established on rubber plugs. The forward end of a spring fastens to a chassis frame by means of an anchor finger, back - a fixing earring.
Shock-absorbers are installed on rubber plugs. Their lower ends are fixed on basic plates of step-ladders of springs, top fasten to a chassis frame.
The long course of screw springs is controlled by hydraulic shock-absorbers of bilateral action. The stabilizer of cross stability is installed between a case of the bridge and the chassis of the car for restriction of raskachivaniye of a body of the car during commission. On some models the remote hummock drive of shutdown of functioning of the stabilizer of cross stability for simplification of movement of the car is provided in cross-country conditions. The mechanism of shutdown provides a free wheeling of the right end of a bar of the stabilizer of cross stability.
The chassis of the car is equipped with the rubber limiter of the course of compression which serves for prevention of direct contact among themselves of metal details at full compression of screw springs.
Use not of the rubber plugs needing service in axial points of components of a suspension bracket allows to reduce the level of the noise published by a suspension bracket significantly. From time to time check a condition of plugs.
