On cars of the considered models the hydrostrengthened steering mechanism with the circulating ball and a nut is used. The steering pump of bladed type in necessary provides supply of hydraulic liquid (oil) on the relevant party of the case of the valve installed in the steering mechanism. At the same time the increasing hydraulic pressure helps movement of mechanical components of the drive, management of which is made also as well as in case of manual steering.
Supply of oil in the steering mechanism is provided with the pump continuously. In normal conditions for maintenance of a stream of oil very insignificant pressure is required that guarantees the minimum selection of engine capacity. During implementation of the parking of the car or commission of a turn the rotary valve which is built in a worm shaft blocks a free stream of oil, providing almost instant increase of pressure.
The design of the drive of steering is rather simple. Cross steering draft, connecting draft and a steering damper are its part. The possibility of greasing of spherical hinges is provided - to turn out caps enough and to install instead of them special unions for connection of the lubricant gun.
Components of the steering mechanism and steering pump do not need greasing. In case of refusal systems of hydrostrengthening steering continues to function in the usual mode, however at the same time the effort, necessary for turn of a steering wheel, increases. As greasing of internal components of the steering mechanism and pump is provided with hydraulic liquid, at loss of power of hydrostrengthening it is necessary to reveal immediately a source of leak of liquid and to remove its cause in order to avoid wear and failure of mechanical components.
Models of late years of release (since 1992) with bodies like Utiliti (Van) (Utility) and Cab-Chassis as an additional complete set can be equipped with a suspension bracket on screw springs. At the same time the steering drive of the same design, as on models with bodies like Hardtop and Station Wagon is used. Implementation of all procedures is made also as it is described in the text of the appropriate sections given below.
The steering mechanism on models of late years of release was modified. The order of implementation of all procedures remains to the same that it is stated in appropriate section of this Part of the Head Peredny and back bridges, a running gear and steering, taking into account the moments stipulated in the text of the Section.
