Removal, dismantling, check of a state and installation of assembly of yokes and bars of pushers

The design of a head of cylinders does not allow to make removal of pushers until the head and its laying are removed. In a type of the aforesaid the procedure of removal of pushers is considered separately in the Section devoted to service of the camshaft and pushers.

Removal and dismantling


  1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
  2. Remove assembly of the air cleaner.

In order to avoid hit in the carburetor of garbage and foreign objects cover his mouth with rags.

  1. Mark and disconnect all hoses and cables preventing removal of a cover of a head of cylinders.
  2. Gradually, on a quarter of a turn for each approach, weaken bolts of fastening of a cover, - begin with external bolts and move inside. Uncover a head of cylinders, having taken care of that dirt and garbage did not get to the engine.
  3. By means of the screw-driver or a wrench weaken screws of adjustment of gaps of all valves before full removal of loading from valves.
  4. Gradually, moving outside inside, weaken bolts of pedestals of an axis of yokes.
  5. Having rotated bars of pushers, release them from yokes and carefully remove assembly of the last.
  6. Take bars of pushers, putting them according to placement on the engine, - it is the most correct to make for the ordered storage of bars of pushers a special sample lath of a dense cardboard.
  7. Remove components from an axis of yokes, putting in that order in what they accommodated on assembly.

Cleaning and check of a state


  1. Wash out all removed components in suitable solvent, then carefully dry, blowing in compressed air.
  2. Check passability of all maslotok of components of assembly, blow channels and openings compressed air.
  3. Check all components for existence of signs of wear and mechanical damages. Replace defective parts.
  4. Check a condition of working surfaces of the yokes contacting to cores of valves. In case of identification of signs of excessive wear replace a defective yoke. Small mechanical damages in the form of scratches can be eliminated with the help an oselka for editing with oil.
  5. By means of a suitable micrometer measure internal diameters of axial openings of yokes and diameters of an axis of yokes on sites of placement of the last. Determine by way of subtraction from the first results of the second landing gaps of yokes. In case of excess by gaps of admissible values (see size tables and adjustments at the end of the Management) replace worn-out components.

Assembly and installation

Assembly and installation are made upside-down.


  1. Before assembly plentifully grease working surfaces of yokes and their axis with motive oil.
  2. Put on assembly components an axis of yokes in a former order (components of the drive of valves are shown on an accompanying illustration).

  1. Oil end faces of bars of pushers motive and insert bars into the nests in a head of cylinders.
  1. Establish assembly of yokes in a head of cylinders (see an accompanying illustration) and by hand tighten fixing bolts. Track that spherical tips of screws of all yokes correctly got to nests of saddles of the pushers.
  1. In several stages tighten bolts of fastening of pedestals with the required effort.
  2. On the cold engine make installation of gaps of valves. Temporarily establish a cover of a head of cylinders and the air cleaner and, having started the engine, warm up it up to the normal working temperature. Check installation of valvate gaps on the heated-up engine, in case of need make adjustment.
  3. Uncover a head of cylinders and again establish it with new laying, a mouth of the gulf of motive oil forward. Screw fixing bolts and tighten them in two stages, moving on a spiral from internal outside.
  4. Connect into place all hoses and cables removed in the course of removal.
  5. Establish into place assembly of the air cleaner.
  6. Start the engine and check it for existence of signs of leak of oil.
